Abstract: Tobias Speth and Sebastian Klein explain how the combination of composite materials with metal parts can be enabled by increasing the static friction coefficient. The speakers will back their presentation with a case study that demonstrates how Friction Inserts from Freudenberg were utilized in a safety-relevant component – namely the front-end module – to reduce for example the weight of the entire module by over 30%.
In this podcast, Dr Ludmilla Derr talks with John McNabb, CTO, and Tobias Speth, Application Engineer at Freudenberg Performance Materials, about automotive solutions and Friction Inserts in particular.

Abstract: Freudenberg's Jan-Hendrik Kettemann and Tobias Speth explain how the company's Friction Inserts enable superior efficiency with lighter components by transmitting higher forces into the joints of engine, powertrain or chassis components. In particular, participants will gain deep insight into the possibilities in shaft-hub and shaft-to-shaft connections.
If you work on mechanical systems with a high load spectrum, BEVs, HEVs or projects to reduce the size of your components, this video shows how a friction increase in your bolted joints can secure them.
